Easy car rentalWanting a car to visit around Lisbon or travel north? Taking a few days to relax in the Algarve? We´d be pleased to help.
We can look for good rates for you, and pre-prepare your reservation, so you spend less time writing forms and waiting at the airport. We work well with Europcar - they are one of Europe´s leading companies, usually give us better-than-published rates, and let our clients pick up the car at whatever agency is best (airport?) and drop off elsewhere. Simply ask us about car rentals when you request one of our apartments, and tell us what kind of car would suit you best during your vacation and we´ll look into it for you.

Climate responsibility
We take our climate responsibility seriously.
First we make sure our properties use high efficiency windows, air conditioning systems and appliances throughout. Then the carbon footprint relating to the homes´ energy usage is accounted and offset, or neutralized, with high quality carbon credits from the e)mission portfolio. The carbon credits come from clean energy projects for sustainable communities in developing countries. We are supporting a lower carbon future, starting with our own properties. All our own properties, and some others we manage, are fully e)mission neutral. Support a Human Development ProjectGuinea Bissau is a small country on the Western coast of Africa, south of Senegal. It is one of the poorest countries in the world. Due to long-enduring political conflict, its social structures are inexistent. Adults receive on average 2.3 years of schooling in total. It is a former colony of Portugal, that went through a colonial war then many years of political and military unrest.
"Afectos com Letras" is a Development NGO (non-Governmental Organization) which supports the upkeep of a few creches and primary schools in different parts of the country, supporting hundreds of children with such basic things as breakfast and medication. It has also created and maintains the first (and only) fully functioning public library in Bissau, the capital city. The NGO is formally constituted under Portuguese law, and has official standing also in Guinea Bissau. It was set up and is run by a group of dedicated friends, led by two Portuguese women who work for the European Parliament. They work very hard at fund-raising to buy supplies and pay teachers´ salaries, and go to Guinea Bissau several times per year to ensure all the projects are going smoothly. We´ve seen what they are doing, and are supporting them personally. We would also like to invite our guests to contribute whatever they want to this social and humanistic cause. We will provide each apartment with a collection box (August 2013), and we will report HERE on what we´re managing to collect for this organization. You can see their facebook page here. They also have a blog here, in Portuguese. |
